Meet the Five Tails Family
Meet Harley
Owner | Operations & Client Care
Harley is co-owner of Five Tails Boarding Co., a U.S. Army veteran, lifelong dog lover, and the person you'll often find behind the scenes making sure everything—and everyone—is taken care of.
Born and raised in Tennessee, Harley grew up surrounded by dogs and has owned and cared for them throughout her entire life. In 2020, she relocated to Upstate New York with her husband, David, where they have since made their home and built a life around family, dogs, and the community they've grown to love.
Harley earned her Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University and has spent several years working with Albany/Saratoga Off Leash K9 Training. Through her professional experience in the dog-training industry, she has worked alongside trainers and families with dogs of numerous breeds, sizes, temperaments, and behavioral backgrounds.
At Five Tails, Harley oversees much of the day-to-day business operations, client communication, reservations, marketing, and—most importantly—hands-on care of the dogs entrusted to the team.
As a dog mom herself, she understands how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else's care. Her goal is for Five Tails to be a place where owners can leave knowing their dog isn't just being housed—they're being known, cared for, and treated like one of our own.
Meet David
Owner | Facility Operations & Canine Care
David is co-owner of Five Tails Boarding Co. and has had a love for dogs for as long as he can remember—with an especially soft spot for Pugs and Beagles, the breeds he grew up with.
David attended the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) and has built his professional background as an HVAC technician. His experience in the trades has made him knowledgeable, dependable, hands-on, and exceptionally useful when it comes to maintaining the property and keeping the facility operating safely and comfortably.
At Five Tails, David plays an important role in both canine care and facility operations. From helping care for our boarding guests to maintaining the property, equipment, heating, cooling, and everyday needs of the facility, he's usually never too far away when something needs to be done.
His technical background is also particularly valuable in a boarding facility where dependable heating, cooling, ventilation, maintenance, and safety systems are an important part of keeping our guests comfortable year-round.
For David, Five Tails combines two things he genuinely enjoys: caring for dogs and taking care of the place they call home while they're with us.
Meet Nataleigh
Canine Care | Professional Dog Trainer
Nataleigh brings professional dog-training experience and a strong understanding of canine behavior to the Five Tails team.
Her background working hands-on with dogs gives her experience with a variety of breeds, ages, personalities, energy levels, and behavioral needs. That training background translates incredibly well into boarding, where understanding canine body language, appropriate handling, structure, boundaries, and changes in behavior is an important part of keeping dogs safe and comfortable.
Nataleigh helps with the everyday care of our boarding guests, including feeding routines, outdoor time, activities, kennel care, enrichment, and plenty of individual attention.
Her experience allows her to look beyond simply caring for a dog's physical needs and pay attention to what their behavior may be communicating—whether they need some activity, a little reassurance, more space, or simply some time to relax and decompress.
What Sets Us Apart
Every Dog Is Different
We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to boarding. We take the time to learn your dog's personality, routine, preferences, and needs so we can provide an experience that works for them—whether they're a social butterfly or happiest doing their own thing.
Room to Roam
Five Tails sits on approximately 70 beautiful acres, giving our guests access to fresh air, outdoor activities, wooded areas, and plenty of new sights and smells. Optional trail walks and enrichment adventures offer even more opportunities to explore.
More Than Just Dog Lovers
Loving dogs is important—but understanding them matters, too. Our team includes experienced professional dog trainers and handlers with knowledge of canine behavior, body language, safe handling, and dogs of different breeds and personalities.
